I am an artist.
Or am I an artist? How does one identify themselves as an artist? Is it simply one who creates art? If this is true, than the everyday person has the ability to place themselves among the likes of Leonardo and Picasso, simply by making a purchase at a craft store.
Everytime someone looks at a piece of my work and asks me, “How do you do that?” I never know how to respond. The truth is that art is too magnificent to be put into simple terms. No other uniquely human ability is as pure of an expression as art, because art is simply as limitless as a thought. Sharing boundaries with a dream, a message, a feeling, an epiphany, a moment... Art gives them the opportunity to be re-created.
Personally, I feel that I have been blessed with talent. Whether it being that I have worked to finesse my technique, or possibly because it was created as part of me, I feel lucky to know what art feels like.
